Adolescence is a difficult and confusing time for both parents and children. There are so many changes happening in their brains, bodies, and social lives. On top of that, the relationship between adolescents and their parents begins to shift dramatically. Add some emotional struggles to this, and it is nothing short of overwhelming for both parties.
I have worked with adolescents for most of my career in outpatient clinics, therapeutic boarding schools, and inpatient psychiatric treatment centers. I believe that adolescents, just like adults, need a place where they can have their feelings and experiences validated. As such, I aim to provide a space where teens can feel understood and grow in ways that are important to them.
If you want your teen to have a place where they feel safe to share about difficult things, to explore what is important to them, to evaluate their goals, to gain a better understanding of themselves and the world around them, and to heal and grow at their own pace, then I would love to talk to you about setting up an appointment.
